Introduction

Sana AI is a cutting-edge AI assistant designed to streamline information retrieval and knowledge management within an organization. With the individual SharePoint integration, Sana AI can seamlessly access and utilize data stored in SharePoint, enhancing its ability to provide accurate, context-specific responses.

Integration Setup

To integrate Sana AI with SharePoint, the following steps are required:

  1. Sign in to your Sana AI account.

  2. Navigate to the 'Integrations' section of the platform.

  3. Click on 'Connect' next to the SharePoint option.

  4. Follow the prompts to authorize Sana AI to access your SharePoint data.

  5. If you are a Sharepoint administrator, select “Consent on behalf of your organization” to let any user connect the integration. If you are a user, please contact your Microsoft administrator to request access

The scopes and permissions requested by the Sana AI Sharepoint integration are as follows:

  • email: Allows the app to read your users' primary email address

  • Files.Read.All: Allows the app to read all files the signed-in user can access.

  • openid: Allows users to sign in to the app with their work or school accounts and allows the app to see basic user profile information.

  • Sites.Read.All: Allows the application to read documents and list items in all site collections on behalf of the signed-in user

  • User.Read: Allows users to sign-in to the app, and allows the app to read the profile of signed-in users. It also allows the app to read basic company information of signed-in users.

File Access and Permissions
Sana AI mirrors the user's access permissions on SharePoint. This means that users will have access to the same files and folders in Sana AI as they do in SharePoint. The integration respects all existing SharePoint permissions, ensuring that users can only access data they are authorized to view. This mirroring of access ensures that there is no discrepancy between what a user can access on SharePoint and what they can access through Sana AI.

Data Handling and Privacy

Sana AI is fully committed to data security and privacy. All data accessed by Sana AI is encrypted both in transit and at rest. Sana does not train any underlying language models on your data, ensuring the privacy of your information. Furthermore, Sana AI respects the underlying permissions of SharePoint with the individual integration, ensuring that users can only access data they are authorized to view.
