Introduction

Templates in Sana AI are powerful tools that can streamline your workflow by allowing you to quickly ask recurring queries and ensure that your queries have the necessary specifications for standardized outputs. By creating and developing templates, you can save time and enhance the consistency of your interactions with the AI assistant. This article will guide you through the basics of creating templates, provide examples, and share some tips and tricks to help you get the most out of this feature.

About Templates

Creating and developing templates can help you both:

  • Quickly ask recurring queries

  • Ensure queries have the specification required for standardized outputs

The text entered into templates is given together with the assistant instructions, and you can specify both the questions asked, what the output should look like, sources to be used, etc. When creating a template, it is possible to pre-select the sources that should always be referenced.

It is also possible to leverage special syntax to ensure the right input is given / the right sources are referenced at parts of the queries. These can be leveraged to increase the flexibility of the templates, but do not need to be used:

Special Syntax

[[Source A]]:

  • Purpose: Reference to a source (or sources) the user can select. The user always needs to select at minimum one source per reference point in the template to use the template.

  • Naming: If “Source A” is written in multiple source-references, you only need to select the relevant source(s) in one of the references. If you want different sources referenced at different parts of the template, you can instead use “Source B” or some similar naming.

{{Input A}}:

  • Purpose: Produces an editable field.

  • Naming: Naming will behave as the standard input given if not specified by the user.

First, give a company summary and an estimate of their global sales.

Structure your outputs in tables, where it makes sense.
