Purpose of the Setting
Certain models and features do not inherently support Zero Data Retention (ZDR). To maintain compliance with data retention policies, enterprise workspaces can enable a workspace-wide setting that enforces ZDR. Activating this setting restricts access to models and functionalities that do not adhere to ZDR requirements. This feature is currently available for the Enterprise tier.
Enforcement Mechanism
When activated, the system ensures compliance by verifying:
Whether the model provider guarantees Zero Data Retention (ZDR).
Whether all model features, such as vision and image processing, adhere to ZDR requirements.
Example: LLM-provider's model X are permitted for chat functionality, but image upload is disabled because LLM-provider's vision models do not guarantee ZDR compliance.
Effect of Enabling Enforce ZDR
Automatic Deactivation of Non-ZDR Models & Features: Any model that does not comply with ZDR is automatically disabled in Workspace Settings and removed from the model selection in Agent Settings.
Restricted Access: Users are unable to manually enable these non-ZDR models.
Agent Reset Notification: When Enforce ZDR is activated, a warning message alerts users that all agents utilizing non-ZDR models will be reset to the default model.
Step-by-Step Guide to Enforcing ZDR in Workspaces
1. Locating the Setting in Workspace Settings
Navigate to Workspace Settings. Users with the appropriate permissions can find the Enforce third-party zero data retention option.
Toggle the setting on or off.
2. The "ZDR Enforced in Contract" setting is an administrative control available in System Admin. When enabled, this setting mandates ZDR enforcement at the contract level, preventing workspace owners from disabling the "Enforce ZDR" option in Workspace Settings.
3. This setting is not visible to end users. If ZDR enforcement is contractually required, end users will see "Enforce ZDR" enabled in their Workspace Settings, but will not have the ability to disable it. If an end user wishes to request a change, they must contact the support team.
