Benefits of Validation
Automatic email address verification: When using Single Sign-On (SSO) to create an account and sign in to your workspace, you must verify your email address. If you have set up domain control validation for all email domains your company uses, this verification will happen automatically.
Linking of accounts: Users who created email accounts prior to the workspace implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) can be automatically linked if they use the same email address. However, if domain control has not been established, they will need to sign in to their email account first and manually link it to the SSO login during their initial sign-in.
Forcing SSO sign-up: You can require users with email addresses from validated domains to sign up using SSO instead of other methods. To require users with an email address from a verified domain to register through SSO, simply check the box labeled Force SSO signup for this email domain.
Workspace Setup Guide
Adding a domain for validation
Navigate to Settings > Workspace Settings > General. Scroll down to the bottom and locate Domain control validation.
Enter the domain name into the text field and click Add domain.
This will add an entry for this domain to be verified. This entry is also where you can configure domain-specific settings. The settings will not take effect until validation is successfully completed.
Validating domain control
To validate control over a domain, a domain administrator must add a TXT record to the DNS servers with the provided record name and value.
After the record has been set in the DNS server. Click on the Validate now button.
