Introduction
Sana Agents is built to keep your organization's data secure while making teamwork effortless. One of the cornerstones of this security is access control—defining what each user role (Owner, Editor, Viewer) can do within your Sana workspace. Clear role definitions help you collaborate smoothly, protect sensitive information, and ensure everyone has the right tools for their job.
Roles, Permissions, and Responsibilities
Workspace Owner
Owners possess the highest level of authority within the Sana workspace. Their capabilities include;
Full Control: Can manage all users, assign roles (Owner, Editor, Viewer), and change workspace settings.
Content Management: Can edit or delete any shared content or collection.
Integrations: Can set up and manage all integrations.
Agent Management: Can edit, share, or delete any agent in the workspace.
Note: Owners cannot access another user's private files, collections, or prompts unless they have been explicitly shared.
Workspace Editor
Editors come second in hierarchy. Their access rights in a workspace are;
Create & Edit: Can create, edit, and organize content and collections in the workspace.
Share: Can invite others as Editors or Viewers (not Owners).
Delete: Can only delete content they created.
Agent Access: Can edit or share agents they have access to, but cannot delete agents.
Settings: Cannot change workspace settings.
Workspace Viewer
Viewers primarily consume content and use chat and agent functionalities. They have the following rights in a workspace;
View Only: Can see content, collections, and agents shared with them, but cannot edit or delete.
Interact: Can comment or chat if enabled.
Personal Content: Can create and manage their own private files and tasks, but not shared workspace content.
